    Pubali Sanyal was born and brought up in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. She attended both school and college in Kolkata. She was very active in theater from her school days and learned music and dance since her childhood.

    She later moved to Mumbai and got a small screen role to kick-start her career. Her first movie was the Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukherjee starrer Saathiya (2002) in which she had a role of very short duration.
