So here I sit, writing about writing about writers writing about writing. No, really!

"The Writing Life" was a column which ran in the Washington Post's Book World section, in which published writers were invited to wax philosophical about their craft.

    As one might expect, it's a mixed bag, and what appeals to me might not appeal to another reader, and vice versa. Naturally all of it is well-written, and both well-known and more obscure writers are represented in equal measure.

    As a writer myself, I am of the opinion that the artistic process is mysterious enough in its basic form without mystifying it further when trying to describe it.
